Terms of Use

Effective: 21 October 2026 · Last updated: 21 October 2026

In short

1.About these terms#

These Terms of Use (“terms”) apply to the Remembra app for Android and iOS (“the app”) and to the website remembra.app. Remembra is a brand of Emotiva.

Remembra is provided by Valentin Buriman, a sole trader trading as Remembra (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms, so please read them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. If you got the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and section 14.6 explains how the two fit together.

2.What Remembra does#

Remembra helps you remember birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates, and celebrate them. It offers:

Remembra has no user accounts. Your data is kept on your device, as our Privacy Policy explains.

3.Who can use Remembra#

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to use it, and especially to subscribe. Remembra is for personal use.

4.Free trial and subscription#

4.1 The free trial and Remembra Premium

All of Remembra’s features are included in one subscription, Remembra Premium, billed monthly. New subscribers get a 30-day free trial. The app store decides whether you are eligible, and usually offers the trial once per account. The app requires an active subscription or trial: without one, it opens on the subscription screen. Reminders you have already set may still appear, but the app’s screens will not open.

4.2 Price

The price is shown in the app and in the store, in your currency and including any applicable taxes, before you confirm. In the United Kingdom it is currently £0.99 per month on Google Play. If the price changes, the store will tell you in advance, and you may cancel before the new price applies.

4.3 Payment and renewal

You buy the subscription from Google Play (Google Play Billing) or the App Store (Apple In-App Purchase). They take the payment, and their terms also apply. When the free trial ends, the subscription starts automatically and you are charged, unless you cancel before the trial ends. It then renews automatically each month until you cancel. Each store sets the exact cancellation deadline; for example, Apple requires cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

4.4 Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in your Google Play account (Payments & subscriptions) or your Apple Account subscription settings. Uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

4.5 Refunds and your statutory rights

Because the stores take the payment, they handle refund requests under their own policies: see Google Play refunds or Apple refunds. This does not affect your statutory rights. If the app is faulty or not as described, please contact us as well, and we will help put it right.

5.Our content and your content#

5.1 Our content

The app, its design and code, the Remembra name and logo, and the templates, backgrounds, stickers, illustrations, greeting messages and other content we provide belong to us or our licensors. Remembra® is a registered trade mark in the United Kingdom. Our visual content (backgrounds, stickers and illustrations) is created with Adobe Firefly, which licenses it for commercial use. The fonts and icons come from Google Fonts and Google Material Icons, under their open licences.

5.2 Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app and its content on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial purposes. You may share the cards and messages you make with the people you are celebrating. You may not:

5.3 Your content

Everything you create or add, such as events, notes, photos, messages and your cards, stays yours. We claim no rights over it and never receive it. You are responsible for having the right to use the photos and other material you add, and for what you send to others.

6.Using Remembra fairly#

Please do not:

7.Optional features and other services#

8.Privacy#

Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information. For privacy questions, write to privacy@remembra.app.

9.Reminders and reliability#

We work hard to make Remembra dependable. But reminders rely on your phone: its notification, battery-saving and alarm settings, its date and time, and on Android the exact-alarm permission. Calendar sync relies on your calendar provider. So we cannot promise that every reminder will arrive at exactly the right moment, that sync will never fail, or that the app will never be interrupted. For dates that truly matter, please keep your own check too. You decide whether and when to send any greeting.

10.Our responsibility to you#

10.1 Your consumer rights

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described. In the UK these come from the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. Advice about your rights is available from Citizens Advice.

10.2 What we are responsible for

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for business losses: the app is for personal use.

If digital content we supply damages a device or other digital content of yours because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or compensate you.

10.3 Limits

Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim and £100.

10.4 What we never exclude

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your statutory consumer rights.

11.Ending these terms#

You can stop using Remembra at any time by uninstalling it. Remember to cancel your subscription in the store (section 4.4) and to export or back up your data first.

We may suspend or end your use of our online content if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by abusing our servers. If we decide to stop offering Remembra altogether, we will give you reasonable notice in the app or on this website where we can. We will also do what we can to let you export your data before then.

Sections 5, 10, 13 and 14 continue to apply after these terms end.

12.Changes to these terms or the app#

We improve Remembra over time, and we may update these terms to reflect changes in the app, in the law or in how we work. We will change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or on this website before it takes effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you can cancel your subscription and stop using the app. If you keep using it after the change takes effect, the new terms apply.

13.Governing law and disputes#

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and you may bring claims in the courts of the country where you live.

If you have a problem, please contact us first at support@remembra.app. Most things can be sorted out quickly and kindly.

14.General#

14.1 Entire agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the app store terms that apply to your purchase, are the whole agreement between you and us about Remembra.

14.2 Severability

If a court decides that part of these terms is invalid, the rest stays in force.

14.3 No waiver

If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.

14.4 Transfer

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another person or business, for example if Remembra is sold. We will tell you if we do, and it will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer your rights to someone else without our agreement.

14.5 Third-party rights

Only you and we have rights under these terms, except as section 14.6 says for Apple.

14.6 If you got the app from the App Store

These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, or claims that it infringes someone else’s intellectual property. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
